Oh Rock of Ages

Squid Ink played the Brunswick Hotel last weekend.

We launched the album in a blazing fury of hot rock and the crowd loved it.

However, you may not have heard the bad news: Silky-D — our own hard-rocking, praying-mantis-shaped guitarist — due to health reasons could not be on stage. The band felt dreadfully unhappy about this and so, I fear, did the audience. We tried to placate the murmuring fans by giving them a taste of Stand-In-Dave but it simply wasn't the same.

Anyway, Stand-In-Dave handled the material comfortably, we nailed the old hits, the new songs went down well. We chose to keep Motorcade in our pocket for you until Silky can join us because only then can we do it justice. Look forward to that.

We have to play again when Silky is back on two legs. Watch this space.

Silky has long counselled me that I should work on the passive part of my passive aggression. To this end I though moving Motorcade to the encore slot and then refusing to play the encore was a big step forward for me. Compeletly over-riding the wishes of my bandmates without ever once using the word cockhead.

Am I right in supposing that we are now offering a free download of the entire album to fans all over the world?

if so, it seems that more attention should maybe be drawn to this fact as I only figured it out by accident and I am a member of the band.

Who are you and what have you done with Silky-D? I haven't been this freaked out since Harpo commented on the blog.
Umm yes, I guess we should. I asked Paddy to do it this afternoon and hadn't put too much more thought into it. Fluffy normally handles PR.

In the last 24 hours I've offended Crafty by dissing one of his all-time favourite songs, I've offended Silky by my repeated snide comments about freakin Bob freakin Dylan, I've offended UT by telling him where to shove his sophistry and now I've offended my own brother by trying to help a man recovering from surgery feel better.

Bugger the whole world. Don't come near me or my furious antagonism will cut you down too.
