The Not So Difficult Second Album
The beds have been made for Squid Ink album number two, attempt number two. If this were charades I would have just held up two fingers followed by putting the two fingers on my sleeve. "Second word! Second syllable!!".
We have kept the super hot shit from the first session (now a full two years old...as honourable son number II is now two and I had to dash from the last session to his heavily pregnant mother) and dropped the merely hot shit. Step forward "Words From Ham" (for it is he!). If Silky is to be believed, Teenage Fanclub already wrote the best song ever about astro-chimps.
Fortunately Silky's silky work remains on several tracks including Melbourne's finest Bryan Ferry impression for the lead vocals on "Hare Trigger".
Paddy has taken a giant leap for mankind with his contribution, "One Step".
And as usual I provide the quantity for appropriate contrast and surround for Paddy's quality.
This coming Saturday we re-enter the West Wing to finish the job off!

Second word, second syllable, my crossword brain working here would have you next pointing towards your bot bot. Answer: second album.
The beds, as you say, are made. Bam. A long, hard, tiring, somewhat humiliating day's work but what a result. Very much looking forward to the overdubs and vocals and hearing what magic the Fifth Squid Trevor will bring to the Ink sound when it all comes together.
Off topic though, way back in the days when people would comment on blogspot (Hello Fluffy! Great to see you and thanks for commenting. I'll be home at the usual time tonight) I would see people share with the world the "word verification" they are about to type in order to prove that they are human. They usually announce that it is something like "fnordle" as though that were some kind of important contribution to the conversation. The "word verification" I am about to type is "snare" - not much of a contribution to the conversation, yes, but much closer to it than most people get when doing this sort of thing.
And of course Crafty was hitting his snare with grace and groove.
Where can I buy this hot shit? Will it be finished in 6 weeks when we come back through Melbourne? Will a download version be available?
Funny you should ask, my peregrinating friend. Why just two nights ago I loaded the first album up on to iTunes. Surprisingly, no purchases yet. And I feel sorry for anyone who does as you can download it for free from this blog.
As for hot shit mark II it will be available through iTunes and as a dedicated follower of the band we could probably see our way clear to sorting you out directly. Wink wink, nudge nudge.
I hope Tasmania City In The Sky is going fabulously.
